Toulouse has a large community of queer students so it’s truly an amazing city for younger trans people.
But don’t worry even if you aren’t a young gun, you’ll still find an inclusive community – but a bit more laidback.
In this guide, I’ll talk about the best ways to meet transgender individuals in Toulouse.
That includes both online and offline avenues, but before I start, here’s some insight into how I’ve gathered the information.

Methodology for Finding Trans Friendly Spaces in Toulouse
At WorldTransGuides, we go through four important steps before writing any guide.
Step 1: Online Search – We start by looking online for places that are known to be trans-friendly and make a list of possible spots.
Step 2: Local Feedback –Our team visits these places to get firsthand experiences, ensuring our recommendations are based on real visits.
Step 3: Community Views – We check forums like Reddit and Quora to see what people are saying about these places, gathering different opinions from the trans community and their supporters.
Step 4: Keeping it Fresh – We regularly update our list to make sure the places are still open and add new ones we discover, providing you with the most current information.
List of TG Friendly Venues in Toulouse
Toulouse only has a population of 470,000 but that doesn’t make the city any less lively.
You’ll find a huge trans scene especially if you’re in the city during the Pride Parade in June which draws over 30,000 attendees.
This number isn’t bad honestly given the city’s population.
1. Bars and Clubs
Toulouse doesn’t have an official gayborhood, the main LGBT area is considered to be around Saint-Cyprien.
With several LGBT-friendly bars, cafes, and cultural spots that cater to the community.
It’s a popular area for socializing and potentially meeting trans people. Here are some bars and clubs you should check out.
QuinQuina Bar at 26 Rue Peyras
Visiting Toulouse is not complete without saying hello to Titi, the bartender. Most guests at this bar are friendly and I saw many queer folks. It’s also conveniently close to the main shopping streets.
Reviews of Other People about QuinQuina Bar
“Just excellent. Very affordable price, super nice owner, open and friendly customers. Terrace outside, with a lot of traffic. Room available in the basement. Ideal for spending good times”
RED BAR at 56 Port Saint-Sauveur
The atmosphere is great, though the dance floor is a bit small. Entrance is €10 and includes a drink, which is standard for clubs in Toulouse and quite reasonable.

Oleksandr Chereshniuk on Google Maps:
“The best club in town. Fairly clean club. Friendly staff. original alcohol. Even for a 10 euros entry + free cocktail, better than I expected. The music is different. I recommend it!!!! I’ll be back.”
L’ASTRAL at 28 Rue Gabriel Péri
Weekdays are usually quieter here but it’s a great place to enjoy drag shows. The crowd is a mix of gay, cis and trans individuals but everyone is friendly.

Perfect bar to spend your weekends – the music is excellent, the cocktails are superb, and the prices are reasonable.
Go ahead without hesitation—you’ll meet a bunch of welcoming queer people!

“Super cool bar, with good commercial pop music, that everyone knows. You can have a drink with friends as well as dance. The place is really safe, with a family atmosphere. I recommend 2000%”
La Gougnotte at 18 Av. Etienne Billières
This is the only lesbian bar in Toulouse that has remained open for more than a year.
It has now become a hub for queer people, and you’ll frequently find trans women hanging out here.

Nathalie Guzmán on Google Maps:
“One of those little places where you can feel welcomed even on your first visit. Incredible drag king show.”
2. Community Centers and Organizations
There’s no official LGBT+ community center in Toulouse but the Espace des Diversités Et De La Laïcité cultural center hosts occasional meetups for the community.
You can also volunteer to join Clar-T, an organization for trans people.
While they don’t exactly host social gatherings, they do workshops where you can network with the community.
Another option is Jules & Julies, they focus on LGBTQ+ youth, mostly up to 30 and even 35 years old. They have meetups pretty much every Saturday.
3. Online Groups and Pages
There are many online communities to connect with Toulouse’s trans community. I’ll start with LGBTQIA+ Toulouse on Facebook. It’s a public group so you can chat with its members without joining it.
Another one is Toulouse FTM, as the name suggests, it’s a community for female to male trans people to mingle.
And if you’re into drag then check out the Drag Toulouse Instagram page to learn about upcoming events.
4. Other LGBT+ Spaces
If you want more drag entertainment then consider going to Les Munitionnettes. You can enjoy drag shows here with some delicious food.
Also, keep an eye out for a small paper agenda called “Clutch” available in shops around the city center.
It provides information on the best LGBTQ+ friendly events and places in Toulouse.
While it’s written in French, the staff distributing Clutch are LGBTQ+ friendly and can offer excellent recommendations on places and events to visit.
What It’s Like to Be Transgender in Toulouse
Toulouse is mostly a safe place for LGBTQ+ folks because it’s a big student city, and many students identify as queer.
However, some bars like Chez Tonton or La Couleur de la Culotte are better to avoid, as they mainly attract cishet crowds and might not be as friendly.
A cool spot in Toulouse is L’Obs, a famous squat that sometimes throws parties just for queer people, with no cishet men allowed.
These parties are a lot of fun, but you usually need to know someone to find out when they’re happening.
If you hear about one, definitely check it out.
Overall, Toulouse is a great city for the trans community, with many inclusive spaces and a welcoming atmosphere.
Wrapping Up: Enjoy Meeting Trans in Toulouse
Toulouse is unarguably a fun city with plenty of options to meet the trans community.
And it’s even more fun because there are a lot of queer students who sure know how to party.
Just put yourself out there and you’re bound to bump into some fun trans people.
If going to bars and clubs isn’t your thing then visit the community center or keep an eye on the event pages I’ve shared!
