Let’s have a look at some of your options.

Somewhere Bar – This bar is a hotspot among the LGBTQ+ community. You’ll find more trans here than any other bar in the city.

The inclusiveness makes it feel like you’re in a different city. The amazing drinks and bartenders further elevate the experience.

Humpin’ Hannah’s – Full-blown party house that welcomes the LGBT community. You can meet trans folks here, but not always.

The atmosphere is absolutely wild, and everyone is drunk out of their senses.

Neurolox Lounge – This venue mostly attracts a cis crowd but it isn’t uncommon to find TGs on the weekends. The staff is really inclusive and accommodating.

The Balcony Club – A gay club that welcomes everyone. You’ll usually find a younger crowd including trans folks who are looking for something casual.

Their drag shows are also really fun with very talented drag kings and queens.

The dating pool in Boise is relatively small, and if you’re specifically looking to date trans people, your options become even more limited.

So if you’re unable to find anyone in local venues, then perhaps try your luck online.

OkCupid has a heavy presence of transgender individuals seeking friends and serious relationships.

But make sure to increase the radius of recommended profiles so you can also find trans users in nearby areas outside Boise. This will maximize your chances of finding a match.

For those not interested in serious relationships and just want something casual, try TSDates instead.

You won’t face downright discrimination in Boise, but you won’t get that huge “community” feel either.

The majority of transgender individuals here move to Salt Lake City or other more LGBT-friendly places.

Though based on my experience, the downtown area of Boise generally has a friendlier feel.

The people there are more open-minded and welcoming towards trans folks in comparison to the suburbs where transphobia is common.

But without a doubt, Boise is definitely safer for TGs than any other city in Idaho.
